Where-New-Thought

We’re having our Kealakekua workshops and classes at the New Thought Center in Hawai’i, which is right off Mamalehua Highway, on the makai side (the ocean side of the road), in Kealakekua, about 20 minutes south of Kailua Kona.

The studio area is well-lit, airy, and spacious. It is at a cool elevation, and is year-round comfortable for classes. (You’ll get a “glow,” not a perspiration “sweat.” And ladies like to “glow.”)

The studio has a very nice, smooth wooden floor – great for easy movement! We also have a number of cushions here, so you don’t have to bring a yoga mat for the warm-up and floorwork portions of class. HOWEVER, please DO bring socks. For some reason, the finish on the floor causes feet to stick a bit, and it’s difficult to do turns and movement changes that involve turning on the ball of a foot. So, for those portions of class, socks will help – or you could bring a pair of those little half-sole dancer’s sandals.

The studio has immediate / easy access off Mamalahoa Highway, and there is ample parking and easy access all around the studio.

If you are coming from a distance for a workshop or extended class, you can get lunch at the Beijing Garden Restaurant, which is right next door, and which serves excellent food.

If you’re making a day trip to an Aloha Belly Dance workshop or event, you can easily schedule a wonderful therapeutic massage after class with Island Spirit Spa. Also, the New Thought Center often has fascinating Saturday afternoon workshops; you can easily plan to have a morning dance class, lunch next door, and participate in an Saturday afternoon New Thought Center workshop or event.

The address is:

81-6587 Mamalahoa Highway C302, Kealakekua, HI 96750.
